Wuxi Grand Theater is an architectural masterpiece in China that was created by Finnish architects. The unique shape of the building seems like a dragonfly that is ready to take off on the peaceful water surface of the Lihu Lake. When viewed from above, it also looks like eight giant “tree leaves” that constitute two theaters: a big one and a small one. These vigorous “leaves” are composed of more than 22,000 pieces of perforated aluminum panels on the roof. Generally speaking, a structure with a curvy surface composed of large number of flat triangles will appear to be too abrupt, but more than 90 percent of the perforated aluminum panel in Wuxi Grand Theater has curves of their own, while the ingenious application of Luxalon® Curved Honeycomb Panels combines countless small curves of different sizes and shapes into a huge round curvy surface. The vigor both inside and outside the building helps create an extremely distinctive building.
