Terminal 3 of Changi Airport opened on January 9, 2008. With the capacity to handle 22 million passengers a year, the S$1.75 billion terminal has a building area of 380,000sqm and is the largest of Changi Airport’s three terminals. T3 uses large amounts of Luxalon® perforated internal ceiling panels 2500mm*850mm and is the first project to use HDXM’s NHIC system. HDXM succeeded in developing and producing perforated honeycomb panels without using non-woven tissue. The roof of the main terminal building is covered in 919 skylights that automatically adjust to the sunlight, while the perforated ceiling further blocks tropical glare and heat, allowing the inside of the terminal to be filled with soft natural light. In addition, smoke can be filtered out quickly to maintain better ventilation.
