Rushdanmdsalleh Architect The Penang Second Bridge, the longest bridge in Southeast Asia, was officially opened on 1 March 2014. The bridge was named after the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tunku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah of Kedah and was assigned with the route number E28. Totalling 24km in length, it will take motorists around 20 minutes to cross the RM 4.5 billion bridge from Batu Kawan on the mainland and Batu Maung on the island.
